What you can do as a parent to help
Having a child with a vascular birthmark can be a trying
time. Whether it is the long process of watching a hemangioma shrink
or the long process of treatment for each type of birthmark, it can be very
stressful for the child and family. Be involved in your child's care
by seeking knowledge, asking questions and getting in touch with a support
group. Parents are often comforted by others who have gone through the
same type of experience. The internet is a great place to do all of

this world renowned clinic has a very in depth information page on various
birthmarks and their treatments.

Vascular Birthmarks Clinic - Located at the Alberta
Children's hospital in Calgary, Alberta. The only multidisciplinary
team clinic in western Canada. Their mission statement reads " To
provide to children with vascular birthmarks and their families a
comprehensive and multidisciplinary evaluation, education and treatment."
You will need a referral from your family physician or pediatrician to set
